Parents of Moroccan students studying in Ukraine plan to protest in Rabat on October 21, 2023, over delays in recognizing their degrees. The National Association of Parents of Moroccan Students in Ukraine announced a peaceful demonstration outside the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy. The protest aims to address the delay in resolving the recognition of degrees for graduates of the architectural engineering department.

The association stated that the protest, scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM, comes nearly a year after the submission of degree recognition files for the 2025 cohort to the relevant authorities, with no final resolution. The association holds the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy responsible for the delay, citing continued bureaucratic obstacles despite the graduates meeting the required legal conditions. A source from the association's national office confirmed to Hespress that the Ministry of Higher Education had already approved the recognition of degrees for the affected students, but the delay persists due to issues within the engineering department.

This protest is part of broader efforts by the association since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022. The association has been working to resolve academic issues faced by Moroccan students in Ukraine, including degree recognition and pending files with relevant authorities. Additionally, the association plans to hold a press conference to update the public on the status of Moroccan students in Ukraine, with a focus on the architectural engineering graduates and the challenges they face in degree recognition.
