Former Raja Casablanca coach Lassad Chabbi has criticized the Moroccan football club for its frequent coaching changes and administrative instability, which he believes have negatively impacted the team's performance over the past few years.

Chabbi, who appeared on the Hespers Stadium program, emphasized the importance of continuity and patience in building a competitive team. He noted that the club's large fan base expects victories and titles, and that fans judge the performance of coaches and administrators based on their achievements, not their names.

Chabbi also discussed the transition to a corporate system at Raja Casablanca, acknowledging some positive aspects such as regular salary payments. However, he argued that this alone is not enough to restore the club's sporting stability. He highlighted that the club has seen numerous changes in its technical staff, with approximately 15 coaches taking over since his departure.

Chabbi criticized the understanding of the role of the sporting director in some clubs, suggesting that this position should be held by someone with extensive football experience and technical knowledge. He believes the sporting director should contribute to choosing the coach, consult on player recruitment, and search for elements that fit the team's playing style, rather than interfering with tactical choices or evaluating the coach's performance without relevant experience.

He also emphasized that decisions about the technical staff should involve the club's president, management, sporting director, and other relevant stakeholders, rather than being made unilaterally by the sporting director. Chabbi cited examples from European football to illustrate his point, suggesting that coach changes should be based on a comprehensive evaluation of results, discipline, tactical performance, and team cohesion, rather than personal disagreements or differing views on playing styles.

Chabbi's criticism comes as Raja Casablanca continues to grapple with instability, with frequent changes in leadership and coaching staff.

CONTEXT: Raja Casablanca is one of the most popular and successful football clubs in Morocco, with a large and passionate fan base. The club's performance and stability are closely watched by fans and the wider football community, making Chabbi's criticism significant in the context of Moroccan football.
