Tunisia will launch its first cooperative for freelancers on November 3, 2026, during the Tunisian Freelancers Day (TFD) at the Cité de la Culture in Tunis. The event, themed 'Liberté créative et structuration,' will focus on the transformation and structuring of freelance work in the country. The TFD 2026 is organized in collaboration with Conect, Prod’it, and Manouba School of Engineering.

The event aims to highlight the silent evolutions reshaping the work landscape and the necessary responses to support freelancers. Despite contributing to evolving professional practices and meeting growing economic and digital needs, freelancers in Tunisia face administrative and social challenges. These include difficulties in invoicing, complex financial procedures, and lack of minimal social coverage, which can push them towards informal sectors or emigration.

Key discussions will center on creating conditions to better recognize, structure, and protect independent work. The launch of the cooperative seeks to address these issues by breaking the isolation of freelancers, mutualizing their services, and providing them with social and economic protection. The cooperative will also aim to enhance their professional rights and competencies.
