Tunisia Secures $130 Million for Road Infrastructure

Tunisia has secured approximately $130 million in funding for key road infrastructure projects. The funds were secured through two financing agreements with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
The financing will support the construction of the first phase of the Bou Salem-Fernana highway and the development of agricultural roads across several regions.
This investment is part of Tunisia's broader strategy to enhance its road infrastructure, which is crucial for economic growth and regional connectivity.
The Bou Salem-Fernana highway is a significant project aimed at improving transportation links between major cities and rural areas, facilitating trade and commerce, and boosting economic activity.
The development of agricultural roads will support the country's agricultural sector, which is a key component of Tunisia's economy, by improving access to farmlands and markets.
