Horror game enthusiasts can now experience the cult classic P.T. on their PCs, thanks to a new porting tool developed by an independent coder. The game, originally released as a playable trailer for the canceled Silent Hills project, was previously only available on the PlayStation 4. The port, created by Lorean Xavier, allows players to generate a playable PC version using the original PS4 files. The open-source project rebuilds the P.T. engine in C++ and Vulkan, preserving every aspect of the original game, including levels, models, textures, sounds, scripts, and cutscenes.

To utilize this port, players must obtain a legitimate decrypted copy of the original P.T. game. This requirement ensures the authenticity of the PC version, as it relies on the original game files. The port offers additional features not found in previous hobbyist recreations or PS4 emulations. These include upscaling, frame generation, a camera mode, experimental third-person and VR support, and a museum section showcasing in-game assets, including unused content.

P.T. was initially released as a playable trailer for the Silent Hills project, a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The game gained a dedicated following despite its short availability window on the PlayStation 4. Its discontinuation left many fans without access to the game, as it could only be played on consoles that had previously downloaded it. This new PC port aims to preserve the game's legacy by making it accessible to a wider audience.
