Testosterone Levels Linked to Irregular Heartbeat Risk

Men with both low and high testosterone levels may face an increased risk of developing an irregular heartbeat, a new study has found. The research, published in the journal Heart Rhythm, analyzed data from over 9,000 men aged 45 to 84.

The study identified that men with testosterone levels below 2.5 nanomoles per liter (nmol/L) and above 15.5 nmol/L had a higher likelihood of developing atrial fibrillation, a common type of irregular heartbeat. This condition can lead to symptoms such as heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and fatigue.
