Algerian University Announces Scientific Chairs Program

Algeria's Al-Zaytuna University has announced a program of general and specialized scientific chairs for the current academic year. The program, under the patronage of the university's rector, Sheikh Muhammad al-Ma'mun al-Qasimi, aims to enhance the institution's role in serving Islamic sciences and reinforcing traditions of teaching, learning, and certification.
The general scientific chairs include four open-to-the-public sessions held between the Maghrib and Isha prayers, with live broadcasts on the university's digital platforms. Certificates will be awarded to students meeting the required scientific conditions. The chairs cover various topics including the biography of the Prophet, Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic creed, and Sufism. The specialized scientific chairs are designed for beginner students of both genders, focusing on systematic training without requiring prior specialization. The first session includes chairs on Arabic grammar, Islamic jurisprudence, legal principles, and Quranic recitation. The program spans three educational courses, each lasting three months, with evaluations following each course to solidify knowledge and enhance scientific competence. The academic year will conclude with final exams and a ceremony awarding certificates, degrees, and prizes to top performers, coinciding with the Prophet's birthday celebration.
Registration details and conditions for the specialized scientific chairs will be announced later through the university's official platforms.
CONTEXT: The program reflects Al-Zaytuna University's commitment to advancing Islamic education and preserving scholarly traditions. The initiative underscores the institution's efforts to adapt to modern educational methods while maintaining its historical mission of disseminating Islamic knowledge.
