Apple Introduces Touchscreen MacBook Pro with Premium Features

Apple has unveiled its first touchscreen laptop, the MacBook Pro, with prices starting at $2,899 and reaching up to $4,799 for the M5 Max configuration. The new models, available in 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes, feature the PROLED XDR Display and include the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips found in existing MacBook models.
The new MacBook Pro offers several premium features, including a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio for high detail and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother screen motion. The laptop also boasts up to 24 hours of battery life and weighs between three and four pounds.
Pre-orders for the new MacBook Pro began on Wednesday, with units set to arrive in Apple Stores and authorized resellers on November 6. Education buyers can benefit from savings of $150 to $300 on the touchscreen models.
Apple's latest quarterly report shows that Mac revenue generated approximately $10.4 billion, marking a 28% year-over-year increase. This growth was significantly driven by the MacBook Neo, a low-cost model introduced earlier this year with a starting price of $699.
The new MacBook Pro's entry price is $400 higher than the current M5 Pro model, which starts at $2,499.
