Abu Dhabi Secures Global Family Business Congress for Three Years

Abu Dhabi has been chosen to host the Global Owners and Family Offices Congress for the next three years, following the conclusion of its fourth edition in the UAE capital. The event will focus on the long-term sustainability of family businesses, including governance, succession planning, and the integration of artificial intelligence in business management.
The congress will be held in conjunction with the Forbes Middle East Family Business Summit 2026, scheduled for October 28–29 in Abu Dhabi. This summit will delve into topics such as governance, succession planning, investment diversification, and the sustainability of family businesses.
Khaled Abdulkarim Al Fahim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Family Business Council and a board member of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of stronger governance frameworks, advanced technology adoption, and leader development to navigate economic changes. He noted that hosting the congress will provide local family businesses with opportunities to strengthen international ties, exchange expertise, and develop long-term investment partnerships.
The event is organized by Campden Wealth in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Family Business Council, which operates under the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The agenda will cover corporate governance, succession planning, next-generation leadership, global trends in private wealth management, long-term investment strategies, and alternative investments, including artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
Al Fahim underscored the significant role of family businesses in Abu Dhabi’s economy, particularly in sectors such as hospitality and infrastructure development. He stressed that the continuity of these businesses relies on updating decision-making processes, strengthening governance, and preparing for technological advancements. A partnership between the Abu Dhabi Family Business Council and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence aims to help family businesses integrate artificial intelligence into their operations.
