An Algerian judge, Samir Benjelloul, has been appointed to the Arab League's Administrative Court. The appointment was announced by the Arab University Council, with Benjelloul's term set to begin this month and last for three years. Benjelloul currently serves as the President of the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the Regional Court of Appeal in Oran and as the Vice-President of the Court.

Benjelloul's election comes as Algeria secures a key position within the Arab League's judicial framework. The Administrative Court of the Arab League, established in 1964, serves as a judicial mechanism to resolve disputes between Arab institutions and the League, as well as to adjudicate employment-related disputes involving staff of the League and its affiliated entities based in Cairo and other Arab countries.

In addition to Benjelloul's appointment, Algeria has secured the position of Deputy Administrator of the Administrative Court of the Arab League. This dual representation underscores Algeria's significant role within the Arab League's judicial system, enhancing its influence in regional governance and dispute resolution.
