The Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo launched an immersive audio-visual experience called 'Eternal Sun' on November 1st, marking its first anniversary. The 35-minute show combines advanced lighting techniques, live music, and narrative storytelling to take visitors on a journey through 5,000 years of Egyptian history. The experience is presented in the Grand Hall after regular visiting hours and is available in both Arabic and English.

The 'Eternal Sun' experience is the first in a series of cultural, artistic, and community events planned by the museum until the end of the year. It is inspired by the distinctive architectural design of the Grand Hall, which transforms into an interactive exhibition space. The show uses architectural projection mapping, dynamic lighting, live music, and audio commentary to create a unique narrative about ancient Egyptian civilization.

The creative concept of the show is based on the natural cycles that were fundamental to the lives of ancient Egyptians, from sunrise to sunset, the annual Nile flood, and harvest seasons. This highlights their deep connection to nature and beliefs in renewal and continuity. The experience also explores the evolution of Egyptian culture through the ages and how its elements continue to influence contemporary life.

Ahmed Ghoneim, the CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum, stated that 'Eternal Sun' aligns with the museum's approach to presenting its archaeological, cultural, and historical content in innovative ways. This allows the public to engage with the material from new perspectives. Amr Abdel Nasser, the creative director of the experience and head of the temporary exhibitions department at Legacy Development and Management Company, noted that the architectural design of the Grand Hall is central to the visual narrative. It explores the ancient Egyptians' views on the universe, life, and death, and how their beliefs and myths are reflected in their art and architecture.

Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled El-Enany, emphasized that this event reflects the museum's efforts to expand its programs beyond regular visiting hours. He also highlighted the museum's role in promoting Egypt's cultural heritage and attracting more tourists.

In addition to 'Eternal Sun,' the museum has planned other events, including a series of concerts, theatrical performances, and educational workshops. These initiatives aim to enhance the visitor experience and foster a deeper appreciation for Egyptian history and culture.

The Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Giza Pyramids, houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection. The museum's state-of-the-art facilities and innovative exhibitions make it a significant cultural landmark in Egypt and a major attraction for visitors from around the world.
