Sahrawi Message to Americans Ahead of UN Security Council Vote

A message from Sahrawi activists has been sent to Americans, criticizing US support for Morocco's control over Western Sahara ahead of a UN Security Council vote.
The message, released by the online news platform الشروق أونلاين, argues that the US is prolonging the suffering of the Sahrawi people, who have been living in a state of conflict and displacement for decades.
The Sahrawi people blame the US, along with France and Morocco, for their ongoing plight. They argue that while they may understand Morocco's invasion and France's support for it due to historical and geopolitical reasons, they cannot comprehend the US's insistence on prolonging their suffering.
The Sahrawi message highlights the geographical distance between Western Sahara and the US, questioning why the US would be involved in a conflict so far from its own borders.
The message comes as the UN Security Council is set to vote on a resolution regarding the Western Sahara conflict. The Sahrawi people are calling on the US to reconsider its position and support their right to self-determination.
