Young scientific talents from 48 African countries are competing in Rabat for the third edition of the Mohammed VI Foundation's Hadith contest. The event, held over three days, features 123 participants competing in three scientific categories focusing on memorizing, understanding, and mastering the rules of Hadith. The competition began on Friday, with participants joining virtually.

The first category requires participants to recite 40 Hadiths related to the signs of prophethood. The second category involves memorizing 30 Hadiths from the Muhammad's characteristics and explaining rare words. The third category focuses on reciting 30 Hadiths about the Prophet's attributes, along with demonstrating knowledge of Hadith terminology rules.

The Mohammed VI Foundation aims to strengthen the connection of African youth with the Prophet's tradition, reinforce their knowledge of the Prophet's life and characteristics, and inspire the human values it carries. This is to contribute to spreading a culture of peaceful coexistence within African communities.

Mohammed Rafiki, the General Secretary of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema, stated that choosing the Prophet's biography as the theme for this edition aligns with the high directives of King Mohammed VI. The goal is to activate the foundation's objectives and enhance its scientific roles. The third edition focuses on the Prophet's biography, allowing participants to recall the Prophet's situations, reflect on the lessons and morals derived from them, and apply the Hadiths' content to daily life.

Participants are evaluated based on two systems. The first system scores performance out of 20 points, while the second allows the judging committee to assess participants' performance, considering aspects such as pausing, elaboration, and the accuracy of recitation. A central scientific committee, comprising experts in Hadith sciences from Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Chad, Nigeria, South Sudan, Ivory Coast, and Morocco, oversees the evaluation.

Ahmed Nouri Mohammed Al-Hallou, the Mufti of the Republic of Chad and a member of the judging committee, stated that the competition goes beyond its competitive nature to serve as an opportunity to renew the connection with the Hadith and strengthen the presence of the Prophet's biography and characteristics in the educational formation of African youth.
