Algerian cybersecurity firm TRM Labs has accused a North Korean hacking group of orchestrating a massive digital asset heist from the Binance exchange. The alleged theft, valued at approximately $6.36 billion, occurred on October 29. The funds were transferred through 10 blockchain networks.

The company reported that the majority of the transfers were completed within 20 minutes, starting at 8:05 PM UTC. The hacking group is said to have moved the assets from a wallet associated with the Binance platform.

TRM Labs, which specializes in analyzing cryptocurrency activities, described the incident as the largest of its kind in the history of digital currencies. The firm's findings were published on its official website.

Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations. The exchange has been a frequent target of cyberattacks in the past, with previous incidents resulting in significant financial losses.

This is not the first time North Korea has been accused of cybercrime. The country has a history of state-sponsored hacking operations, often targeting financial institutions and cryptocurrency exchanges to generate revenue for its regime.

Cybersecurity experts have long warned about the growing threat posed by state-sponsored hacking groups. These groups are often well-funded and use sophisticated techniques to evade detection and carry out large-scale attacks.
